PRSI 3 Part Series

3 Hours Taxation
Brendan Casey

Executive Directors PRSI Liabilities

Date: Thursday, 15 July
Time: 12:30 – 13:30
Speaker: Brendan Casey

This session will outline how you can successfully reduce the PRSI liability of a specific category of minority shareholding Executive Directors to a “Class S” rate of PRSI and the potential four year refund of overpaid PRSI.

Conversely, ensuring that Directors, you may have already advised are liable to the reduced Class S rate of PRSI, are correctly classified and that you have not exposed the client to a potential PRSI underpayment.

Part a: PRSI Liabilities on Rental & Investment Income
Part b: PRSI Applicable to Relatives of Directors Employed by the Company

Date: Thursday, 29 July
Time: 12:30 – 13:30
Speaker: Brendan Casey

Part a:
Unearned income, such as Rental, ARF Downloads, Investment or Separation/Divorced Maintenance payments have their own Welfare rules on PRSI liability. Your client needs you to know the exact PRSI liability and ensure they are not jeopardising their future pension entitlement.

Part b:  There are many misconceptions among accountants on the PRSI applicable to employees who are relatives of a Proprietary Director of that company. This session outlines the correct PRSI rates that should be applied.

Welfare State Pension Qualification

Date: Thursday, 12 August
Time: 12:30 – 13:30
Speaker: Brendan Casey

Recent increases in the State Pension age from 66 to 67 (and to 68 in 2028) have been suspended pending the outcome of the deliberations of a specially convened Welfare Pension Commission. The Welfare Pension Commission are due to issue their report in July on the age the State Pension Contributory will become payable and the manner in which the pension will be calculated in the foreseeable future.

This session will cover all of the changes and how they will impact your clients prospects of securing the highest title possible.
